Hi! We are the Model UN students of HARVEST COLLEGIATE HIGH SCHOOL in New York, NY and we need your help to attend the Model UN conference in Berlin, Germany, November 15-18, 2017. The conference topic is Women´s Empowerment: A key to Good Governance & Social Economic Prosperity.
The Berlin Model United Nations (BERMUN) was organized to facilitate the understanding and promote consensus-building by debating international political, humanitarian, economic, social, and environmental issues in a forum simulating the United Nations system. Through the Model UN students learn and understand about diplomacy, negotiation and the decision making process in an international context.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED to help us with the costs in attending this nine day trip for the conference including admission fees, lodging and airfare. Harvest believes that no MUN student will be denied the unique opportunity to attend the conference regardless of their ability. We all want to experience the democratic process as a delegate and to interact and address viewpoints, prejudices, and barriers with our peers from around the world and to meet others from countries vastly different from our own. MUN will teach us to express our political beliefs and values with those of different cultures and nationalities.
We are grateful for your help to give us this exciting opportunity to broaden our understanding of the complexity of issues that confront today’s world and to help us to become future leaders.
