Harold Has Cancer

I hate asking for money, but the simple fact is that having cancer is expensive.  Financial stress makes everything harder on a young married couple.  I have been asked by several people what they can do to help.  Prayer is always appreciated and a great comfort but I have been asked by some people about money.  A lot of my friends are no longer local but still want to help out in any way that they can and someone recommended this website as a way to raise funds for expenses, the lower income, and as a way to reduce the financial stress that this event has suddenly brought to our lives.  13K seems like a very high goal to me so I will tell you how I came up with it.  I am on FMLA right now and will be doing chemo for at least the next six months, that means that I still have my health insurance but no income from me to the household.  So now the math; I took my take home pay per month on average x6 and then added my total out of pocket expenses on my medical bills to it and that is how I came up with the total.  I honestly don't expect to reach the goal but any amount will help.  We have applied for grants to help with medical expenses, short term disability grants, and other programs to help as well.  The bad news about those options is that in most, if not all cases, the approval process takes at least 4-6 months to be completed.  This is something I can do to help us out now.  I appreciate any donation you can contribute no matter how big or small.
