<div>Harland was born with a rare, severe heart condition called HLHS that affects only 1-2 babies out of 10,000. These babies are lovingly referred to as "blue babies". At only 8 days old, this little fighter endured his 1st of 3 required open heart surgeries.

<div>Without the necessary treatment, the life expectancy for an infant with HLHS is a few days to a few weeks at most. With surgical treatment, the survival rate to age 5 is 72%, after which the survival rate for people reaching the age of 18 is approximately 90%. The oldest person to survive HLHS is in their 30s.

<div>Brandon (dad), Ariana (mom), Harland, and the extremely large team who cares for him are all preparing for the next surgery, which will happen in April.

<div>These donations will help make up for lost wages &amp; help with deductibles &amp; co-pays. From what I understand, even with the excellent insurance Ariana has through her employer, Lee Health, they have already paid more than $10,000 out of pocket for Harland's expenses in just over 4 months. Now they will be out of work, once again, and 2-hours from home.

<div>Most importantly, these funds will allow them to take a couple breaths and know that they can financially afford to spend every moment they can with Harland at a time he needs them most, and not simply be thinking "I have to go back to work even though he still needs me".
