Hank's Recovery

Donation protected
On the night of January 29th, our 10 month old Golden Retriever, Hank, was struck by a car and rushed to the vet. He suffered from hypovolemic shock, pneumothorax, road rash, liver damage, and paralysis to his front right leg.
Fortunately, the vet was able to stablize Hank and his lungs using a chest tube in each lung. The liver damage led to a drastic increase in ALT enzymes, but over time these levels have been decreasing. We are blessed that these problems have been solved, but now the main focus is on the brachial plexus avulsion of his leg. He currently has no feeling or function of the limb. If he gains feeling of the limb in the coming months, it will be saved, but if not, his right front leg will need to be amputated.

Hank is a playful and affectionate companion that brings joy to everyone he meets. With the cost of the emergency procedure along the possible future amputation and physical therapy, his owner needs any gracious donations to ease the financial burden. In the event that Hank avoids amputation, the extra funds will be donated to a local animal shelter in Columbia, SC.
