Howdy Ya'll!
Listen...as I write this, my neighbor's house has just burned to the ground. And they lost everything. EVERYTHING.
My daughter and I just sent a bag of shoes, socks, and hats to the family because we heard that they left their house with the clothes on their back and nothing else.
These folks are good, good folks. Salt of the Earth good, as far as I am concerned. Otherwise, I would not be doing a Go Fund Me for them.
Let's just say that where I come from...I couldn't ask for better neighbors.
Obviously, we think the world of our neighbors, the Hammaker Family of the Cove area in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in the same valley and mountain range as me, David "Junior" Hammaker and his wife, Anita are doing a mighty fine job of raising four girls and living a simple life as best they can.
This evening, with their house burned to the ground, life just got a bit more difficult.
The Hammakers have been good to me and my family. They are good to/for our community. They work. They live. They go to our little community church. They just get by as best they can.
And I want to help them out as best that I can.
What I can't do is a whole lotta money to help them get them back on their feet.
But, I can write and I can do that good, it seems.
So, I am asking for any donation to help my neighbors. Any amount at all. Seriously, even as little as $10 bucks can go a long way with a family of six that will be starting all over again with nothing.
Please help my neighbors in this little Cove village that I live in.
We are going to do our best to help our neighbors but sometimes, it takes more than our village to get things done.
