This Ends In Hallelujah

If you ever find yourself blessed enough to meet Mike and Latrelle Dover, you will immediately be struck by how humble and selfless these two are. They are the kind of people with faces that light up at the little things, who will drop anything to help anyone, and when the going gets tough -- they are the people you want on your team.

As you can see below, there is a veritable “list a mile long” of amazing things these two have given back to their community, both locally and nationally.

Now it is our time to return the favor.

On March 24, 2018, Latrelle went to the ER after experiencing severe abdominal pain with bloating, nausea and fatigue. The doctor recommended the usual battery of tests for intestinal issues, but everything came back negative. She was nearly discharged with no actual answer when the doctor noticed a small rash on her lower abdomen and proceeded to order different blood panels, a CAT scan, and more labs. Due to the findings that came from these tests, Latrelle was instantly referred to a GYN Oncologist.  On April 2, 2018 this GYN Oncologist biopsied an area in the abdomen and drained two liters of fluid from her abdomen. On April 9, 2018, Latrelle was given a confirmed diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer, with the suggested treatment plan of 3 rounds of chemo and then surgery four weeks after the last series, if possible, followed by 3 more rounds of chemo if her body healed well from surgery and was able to handle more chemo. The report Latrelle received from her doctor is that of a 25% chance of surviving within the next five years with treatment or six months to one year without treatment.

The doctors were ready to administer a chemo port the very day of that diagnosis if Latrelle’s answer had been yes. But sitting there in that office surrounded by hopelessness, she felt the call to step away, pray, and see where God was leading. On April 19, 2018 -- she told her family and her doctor that  she is confident that the path God has for her is that of natural medicine.  Latrelle has been clear that the decision to pursue natural alternatives was not entered into lightly. She is choosing to believe what God has placed on her heart and the testimonies of others who have found healing through alternative measures as well.

If you are able to donate, this money will be used for anything from travel to and from the alternative medicine facility outside of the US Latrelle will attend, the rigorous diet regimen she is currently following, her lifelong dream of traveling to Israel, and helping with bills as Latrelle focuses on her prayerful journey to healing.

Both Mike and Latrelle are servants to their core.  Before this diagnosis, you would find Latrelle dividing her personal time spent working or with family, between Bible studies, working with charities, and assisting Mike with his Disabled American Veterans National Chaplain duties. Mike spends his hours serving the homeless community, working with disabled veterans, and serving closely with Restoration Ministries. They would never for a minute want anyone to know exactly how hard they work, but we who love them have managed to comprise just a small list of what these two incredible souls have been a part of.

Mike and Latrelle have poured out lives full of service. They have made sacrifices that count, and they have spoken healing over the lives of others in impossible situations, knowing that the grace of God was entirely sufficient for the crisis at hand. They are falling on that belief now. This is a faith-based plea to stand alongside all of us who KNOW God has a significant plan here. Latrelle is already defying doctors expectations and is not letting anything shake her trust that she will see her first grandson graduate high school in two years, see and hold her newest grandson, due September 7th, on the day he is born, and for years to come. The Dovers cannot thank you enough for walking in faith with them and want you to know how much it means to them.

Please consider donating to this fund and being a part of Latrelle’s healing. We would love it if you stood in faith with us as we head into our hardest fight yet. Mike and Latrelle cannot fight this battle alone; let’s rally together to help in any way we can.

We can’t wait to share the rest of this story with you.  Please join us in claiming that it ends in Hallelujah!
