Katelyn‘s mom needs a liver. A half a liver to be more specific, and I have half to spare.
When Katelyn told me she wanted to go to camp I was extatic. Yes, it is the best week of your life located on a little piece of heaven. But, Katelyn was saying yes to Young Life camp the day before we would get on the bus to go to Michigan with 50 high schoolers and Young Life leaders, none of which she knew. A lot of you reading this were praying with us that God would put who He wanted on the bus. God is faithful. And God chose Katelyn.
Fast forward six months and I have an awesome friend who is learning right along with me what it looks like to live in the love of Jesus. Even when life gets hard. Really hard.
When Katelyn told me, “The doctors say my mom’s condition is getting worse,” we cried.
The Lord provides for our every need. He’s been faithful every time. I know He is what Katelyn needs and will need. But just like with Young Life camp, sometimes God allows me the privilege of being a part of the love story.

What we don’t have is the money for plane tickets, meals, and lodging for the weeks at Mayo Clinic for qualifying tests and hopefully the liver transplant.
I leave for Mayo Clinic in Minnesota on Monday, January 22nd. I’m hoping to buy plane tickets as soon as we have the funds available.
In addition to finances, I am in need of prayer. Please pray for Katelyn‘s mom , Korri, that her health would remain steady until we are able to schedule surgery. Also, pray that this last round of tests would officially clear me as a match to be the donor Korri needs! If you are able to help in any way, we appreciate it so much. Whatever we do not end up needing will be given to Katelyn’s family.
