HOPE FOR MATT

Donation protected

3Matty is two years old and was diagnosed with leukemia just a week before Christmas this year. Unfortunately, he still remains in the hospital and the first year he believed in Santa he had to sadly ask if Santa would be able to find him this year since he would not be at home. As you can imagine, not only are general bills accumulating, but parking fees, gas, and food are quickly adding up as well. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see my baby cry to go home almost everyday but he is an amazing little boy who has remained happy most of the time and still thanks every doctor for coming in to "fix him."

Thank you so much and best wishes.

-Morgan

My daughter's boyfriend set up this site for Matt, so that my daughter will be able to stay home to care for Matt once he finishes his inpatient treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ("ALL") at Boston Children's Hospital, and to help with her expenses while Matt is hospitalized and also while he is receiving outpatient treatment for the next 2 years. We are fortunate that Matt's dad is able to take time off work, with pay, to stay with him in the hospital. However, Morgan is not. She has used up almost all of her paid vacation time, so any additional time she takes off from work will not be paid time. She commutes to the hospital and stays with Matt all day, every day. He is just so little and does not understand what is going on...why he has "tubies" as he calls them, in his nose and arm, why he is constantly being poked and prodded, and why he can't go home, and he cries for his Mommy, so she wants to be there with him. She has to pay for parking, daily, in addition to paying for her gas for the 1 1/2 to 2 hour round trip commute, plus all of her meals. Matt will be in the hospital for 32 days, and then he will require outpatient treatment for 2 years, weekly at first, and then every 3 weeks. He will not be able to return to a daycare setting for 3 months once he leaves the hospital, so we are hoping to raise enough money for Morgan to stay home with him so she can pay for hers and Matt's living expenses, insurance co-pays and other expenses not covered by health insurance, until he is able to return to daycare and throughout his treatment. We are confident that Matt is receiving the best possible treatment he can receive for this insidious disease and that he will be cured through medical excellence and the grace of God, but Morgan will need help, both financially and emotionally, to get through this very difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, kindness, compassion and support!
