Relief Mission to Standing Rock

Tearing up the land.

Water is life. Water is our most precious resource. Herbal Medics stands with Standing Rock in support of those fighting for the water that nourishes their land and their people, the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe, along with the support of over 130 tribes across the U.S and countless other supporters, have come together to protest the building of the North Dakota Access pipeline. The proposed pipeline would cross both ancestral burial grounds and the Missouri River just half-mile upstream from the reservation. Should this pipeline burst it will not only have devastating consequences for the Standing Rock Sioux tribe it will also impact the drinking water of millions of people in the neighboring communities.

Our team is one of the groups who have provided herbal (and medic) support in Sacred Stone Camp. We have established a fully stocked temporary herbal first aid station and have paid for the construction of a more permanent long building to house the herbal first aid station for the winter.
It is vitally important to keep the protectors healthy and strong for the long fight ahead of them. They are literally in the fight of their lives for not only themselves but also for their community, surrounding communities, and of course, the sacred waters.

It is not unusual for Herbal Medics to work with communities who have already been severely harmed by water contamination. This trip to North Dakota is a welcome opportunity because it is a chance to support those fiercely fighting  to stop the contamination of their most precious resource before it happens. It is our privilege to stand with the supporters and to offer our expertise and our assistance.
