Hilton Head Cycling Route Signage
Tax deductible
Hilton Head Cycling (HHC) and the Jeff Garske Memorial Fund are raising funds for bicycle safety signage on Hilton Head Island. This effort is in conjunction with the Town of Hilton Head Island and the Bicycle Advisory Committee to create an active cyclist route and remind drivers that bicycles are vehicles that belong on roadways.
Jeff, a passionate cyclist and founding member of HHC, was killed two years ago. To continue to honor his memory, we will provide a grant to the town to fund SHARE THE ROAD and similar bicycle signage and pavement markings along active on-road bicycling routes.
Town engineering staff has worked with HHC to identify appropriate locations. Cost per sign is estimated to be about $250.
