#HELPMYTWIN Get to Residential

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Mancuso. My twin sister, Emily, was born with Cystic Fibrosis and Cerebral Palsy. However, her biggest battle right now is Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). She has been fighting mental illness for the past 7 years. She has reached a point in her battle where she needs to go to a residential treatment facility to help in her recovery. No treatments have worked so far. She has tried shock therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), countless medications, hospital admissions... you name it.  As you may know, the mental health system in America is not the best. In order for her to spend a few months in a residential facility, it would cost at least $200,000! Insurance doesn't cover it...but she needs it. This disease has taken too much away from her. I am ready for her to be a 22 year-old young woman who enjoys life! That is what inspired me to start this page. I will stop at nothing to help my sister. She has battled this very bravely for so long, but to no avail. Mental illness is a TRUE ILLNESS and my goal is for it to be treated as such so that I can get my healthy sister back! Please donate and help me, help her. Her doctors and therapist say that residential is what would be best for her. However, due to the excessive costs, it is simply not feasible. It has devastated my parents, older sisters, and myself that we can't offer her what she needs. BUT, there is always hope!
