We're inviting outdoor adventurers and history buffs to help create a film about the HBC Heritage Trail.
We're raising funds for post-production costs including original music composition, motion graphics, and sound design. Donors names will be listed in the credits.
Thank you to everyone who has already pledged support including the Okanagan Similkameen Parks Society (OSPS) which provided seed funding for the documentary.

About The Film
Post-production editing is underway on this independent short film. 'Trekking Through History: HBC Heritage Trail' will be submitted to film festivals later this year and made available online as a free educational resource. The film is being produced by ET2media.
About The Trail
The HBC Trail was completed in 1849. Originally a First Nations route for hunting and trade, the HBC Trail played a key role in British Columbia’s early development. Since 2009, significant progress has been made in re-opening this historic fur trail over the Cascades. Hikers and horseback riders can now enjoy a continuous wilderness trail that spans 74-kms, between Hope and Tulameen.
Harley Hatfield and Victor Wilson travelled the HBC Heritage Trail in 1971. Both men were prominent South Okanagan residents and were well known throughout the Okanagan Valley. In the Okanagan Historical Society’s Report for 1972, Harley wrote about the trail, and Victor included it in his journal. Victor Wilson was filmmaker Sandy Wilson’s father. He owned Paradise Ranch at the end of Naramata Rd.
Okanagan Similkameen Parks Society (OSPS)
Dedicated to the preservation of our natural and cultural heritage.
OSPS was formed in 1966 with the following aims: to work for the acquisition and preservation of parklands, especially in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, for the health, recreation, education and natural enjoyment of the public; to seek preservation of habitat for wildlife, and protection of natural biotic areas for scientific study.

'Trekking Through History: HBC Heritage Trail'
is being submitted to a small number of film festivals beginning in November 2018. It will not be available online before that time although we will release an updated trailer later this year.
