The Gunner Lewis-Vale Trust Helping Gunners Future
He is in desperate need of an urgent bone marrow transplant. With no match in our family or on the UK register there is now a worldwide search. We are raising funds for blood cancer charities Anthony Nolan and DKMS to help add new donors onto the stem cell register and save the lives of people like Gunner. It costs £40 to add one new donor onto the stem cell register. The transplant operation can only done before October 2021 when Gunner turns Two. If successful it will prevent this horrible disease causing Gunner brain damage. With this is our outcome we hope to give Gunner the best quality of life possible with the short life expectancy he has been given.

Our £10,000 target has been reached, we are so incredibly grateful to every person who has donated and helped us get there. We are now able to allocate this money evenly between Anthony Nolan and DKMS to help fund more testing kits to help find Gunner and others like him a match.
Going forward we are in the process of setting up a charitable trust for Gunner. When we set up this gofund me page our only focus was to find Gunner a bone marrow donor and this has also been achieved and will take place when the donation flys into the UK in July.
However, we are now very aware that as Gunner grows and develops, it is very likely that he will require specialist equipment and that we will need to adapt our home to help make his life easier.
We would also like to start a legacy for him, this is where the charitable trust comes in.
All funds that are raised now will go into the Gunners Trust to help our family to adapt and cope as Gunner grows but also to help other family’s with MPS should they need it. We will also be donating to the MPS charity to help fund research given that there currently isn’t a cure. This might not benefit our family now but could help other families in the future.
We also hope to help other families overcome the financial struggles of the above mentioned equipment and household changes too, furthering Gunners legacy.
