Hanna's Mission trip to Guatemala
Hi Guys!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page! I was one of six students from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy selected to attend a mission trip in Guatemala and I need your help!
Guatemala has some of the neediest and most vulnerable children in the world. So many Guatemalan children live without the most basic necessities and struggle to survive day-to-day. They lack access to proper nutrition and have no means of being properly educated. The main community I will be serving has settled on abandoned railroad tracks for over 24 years. Many live in shacks built out of miscellaneous materials located on and around the abandoned railroad tracks.
I will also be traveling to other sites around the country to serve underdeveloped villages as well.
Through the Foundation Hope 4 Kids International, I'll be helping run medical clinics, soup kitchens, as well as educational health programs for all the children of Guatemala.
My mission trip will be taking place over the summer but I need your help to help me fund it! I've always been told that I can't attend various trips and events because I simply cannot afford to do so. I was very discouraged about attending a mission trip until Dr. Birnie, the dean of Wegmans School of Pharmacy, said something that really resonated with me. She said, "You will regret not attending as a student because by the time you will have the money, you will no longer have the time."
Making a difference in the lives of children and serving the underpriveledged are two things I've always been very passionate about. I would love if you could find the kindness in your heart to donate to my page. Any amount will help me reach my ultimate goal!
All of the money donated will be used to pay for my airfaire, application fee, service fee, as well as my hotel while I'm volunteering. I'll be in Guatemala for about a week and I promise to take plenty of pictures to share with everyone who contributes to my fund!
