Coast to Coast Challenge
16th – 20th Sept 2021
“These boots are made for walking”
And walking…………......and walking………….…...and walking………………and walking.
Just under 100 miles in 5 days will see this intrepid group travel across the country from Bowness-On-Solway to North Shields.
5 days to get from one side of the country to the other.
Rain, wind or shine. It’s head down, one foot in front of the other in this blister inducing, chaff fest of a challenge.
This challenge has a purpose, the money raised through the C2C walk, will go a long long way in helping to shape the next chapter of the lives of 3 special children.
Overcoming a very premature birth (weighing in at 2lb, 2lb and 1lb) was the first battle for these triplets.
As the children were leaving the various intensive care units, mum was diagnosed with breast cancer.
All battles have been won but a long challenge still continues.
Life and school have not been straightforward at any time. Money raised through previous challenges has helped with numerous therapies and treatments and has made a big difference funding things otherwise unaffordable.
Now as they move from childhood to becoming young adults, help is needed with costs incurred for home-schooling, the consequent home exams and moving forward the cost of college courses.
The family are not a charity. Just an honest hardworking family that have faced more than most. Red tape and loopholes have made local authority help, incredibly difficult and insufficient. Money raised through these challenges, really is the difference maker.
As with the other events the family do not know this is taking place.
With your generous help we aim to raise as much as possible, so dig deep and help make a difference to one special family that deserve a break.
