Greg's Heart Transplant

Donation protected
In 1996 at age 38, Greg suffered a massive heart attack and was placed on the transplant list.  An implanted difribultor, pacemaker and many medications worked well and Greg was placed on an incactive transplant list.  In 2006 Greg's condition worsened and he was again placed on the heart transplant list as a status 2 (status 1 patients are not able to function outside of a hospital).  He waited for over 8 years to no avail.  Because he has been on a slew of medications since 1996, other organs could be in jeopardy before he is on status 1 which would end any hope of a transplant.
Two years ago,  doctors  had  also informed him of new organ distribution regulations that made his chance of a transplant as status 2 highly improbable.
Greg has become noticeably weaker in the past year.
Recently an opportunity to receive a much needed heart-transplant as a status 2 became available but only in another state across the country from his home.
This requires him to relocate for the period prior to the transplant as he waits for a match as well as three to six months post transplant for follow-up care.  Housing is the MAJOR cost in this endeavor for Greg and his wife.  The wait has begun and is longer than was expected. The lodging costs are doubling what was expected as the stay far from home lengthens.
It is the hope of Greg and his family that others who are able will aid in his lodging costs.  Going home without a transplant when funds run out is a daunting option.
Thank you in advance for your donations, thoughts and prayers.
