GREAT SANDY HOOK / NEWTOWN CT REUNION

The memories we hold of our youth, our hometowns and of our schools, are unique to each one of us in America. For some, they were the best of times, looked upon with fondness and a yearning to reconnect . . . to maybe go back one day.

The entire world now knows of our wounded town. They worry for us, our children and for the students whose trust and innocence has been compromised in the most unimaginable way. Our town is heartbroken. They are calling us back.

The time has come for us, the Alumni of Newtown, to serve the town that has served us so well. Our united front can be an inspiration to students everywhere; proving that adversity need not forever impede happiness or prevent success.

An event of unprecedented significance has been planned for this summer in Newtown... almost within walking distance to our cherished Sandy Hook Elementary School.  All persons who ever attended a school in Newtown have been invited back for a day of healing & re-connecting.  An 'All Classes Invited Reunion'.  Not only will we pass our individual strengths on to each other that day, but we will show our beloved town and its children that we are there for them... now and forever.

Thousands of our Alumni gave generously to the school, its children and the town after that tragic day in December.  The Reunion Committee is now struggling to keep ticket prices low for the many Alumni who are traveling back home to Newtown for this once-in-a-lifetime event. 

1000 Newtown Alumni voted in an on-line poll for a July Reunion event.  Newtown does not have an indoor facility that can accommodate that number of people. The Reunion event will be held on a soccer field under a large tent.  The cost of the tent for the day is approximately $10,000.00.  Alumni from as far back as the Class of 1940 have RSVP'd!!!  They cannot sit in the hot July sun for very long... so a tent is definitely needed.

We know that Americans and people around the world have already given so much to our town and its children.  All we are asking now is that if you know ANYONE in YOUR hometown that went to school in Sandy Hook, (Newtown), please let them know about their upcoming Reunion!!!

We have a quaint weekly local newspaper in Newtown, called The Newtown Bee.  They have written some articles about the upcoming Reunion.

We are searching for corporate sponsors to maybe help out with bottled water, sunscreen and electric fans for the day as well :-))))
