I started this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my daughter Jill and her husband Grant and my grandson's ages 4 & 6. They lost their home and everything in the Tubbs Fire on October 9th, 2017. Their home was located in Coffey Park, Santa Rosa in Sonoma County California.
Any donated funds will help them with the necessities of daily life for food, gas and additional expenses incurred as well as family cat's veterinary expenses.
This is a family that has always giving so it is hard for them to be on the receiving end. They really need help with donations in starting the first few weeks and onward.
The recent devastating fires in Santa Rosa, California (Sonoma County) has left the Stephens Family with no home, no belongings, although thankfully with their lives and family intact. They were lucky to get out of their house with the clothes they were wearing, scooping up the kids from their sleep and fleeing for their lives, they did not know that this would be the last time their family would ever see their home or belongings.
They tried their best to grab the family cat "Crosby" but he was unreachable and fleeing from fear.
The following day upon seeing the burned down remenants of was once their home, Grant spotted the family cat "Crosby" lying in the gutter amongst the debri in front of their burned down home, unrecognizable due to black cinged fur coat from what was once beautiful orange striped fur coat. Crosby ran out of fear at first, but Grant was able to locate him and rushed him to the closest Veterinary Clinic which required a large deposit for Crosby's care. The vet clinic was able to revive Crosby with oxygen but needed overnight medical care due to burns. The vet bill and prescribed medicine alone will set the family back at this time.
Bringing their family cat Crosby to the worried little boys will help with the healing and show them things will get better.
It is indescribable how the events has brought so many family and friends together for them, dropping off clothing and toys for the children ( Boys age 6 yrs and 4 yrs old), as well as for Jill and Grant.
Grant is an electrician commuting to San Francisco daily from Santa Rosa and Jill works locally for Sonoma County. Their oldest son is 6 years old and attends a local school and will need daily lunches, snacks and school supplies. Their youngest son is 4 years old and will also require daily lunches, snacks and necessities for attending day care.
Please help however you can and know they are so very grateful for your kindness.
