Grampa Miller's Grave marker

Donation protected
James Slater Miller, mostly known to us as Grampa Miller, left Orkney Islands in 1871, a sixteen-year old son of an impoverished family to join the Hudson Bay Company in Canada. At the time of his death in 1939 he was considered by many to be one of the most colourful frontier figures in the north.

He is buried in Gogama Ontario and the site is marked with an old weathered wooden cross. Our goal is to raise funds to ensure he will not be forgotten to our future generations. We want to honour him and his legacy with a granite grave marker.

The image shown is not the actual marker. However, it will be made of natural stone with a bronze plague. We need to raise the funds to be able to proceed with the production.

If every descendent were to donate $20 or what ever they can afford that would be appreciated.

On June 30, 2018, we hope you see you and your family for the Miller reunion and celebration of life for Grampa Miller in Gogama, On
