Gower Riders Cycling Club - Cycling Facility

Gower Riders cycling club is based in Swansea and cater for members from five years of age upwards. We are an accredited British Cycling Go-Ride Club, providing coaching for our members across a range of disciplines including Road, Time Trial, Cyclocross, Mountain Biking and Track cycling. We're a family orientated club who're dedicated to growing cycling participation in Swansea while offering great coaching, a safe environment in a friendly atmosphere.
Recently, we have been allocated a piece of land in Craig-Cefn-Parc in the Mawr area of the Gower constituency where we can build a cycling facility to meet the needs of our members and the community at large. The development of this will cost in the region of £500,000. We're going to be applying for grant funds however this will be unlikely to get close to our target.
We would love to receive donations from anyone who sees the benefit of this cycling facility. It would benefit young and old, all levels of ability as well being suitable for disability groups. We would continue to coach both racing skills and recreational cycling, specifically safe riding in road environment. As such, this would promote sustainable, low carbon commuting.
Swansea doesn't currently have a dedicated cycling facility which is a shame when you look around to local region at Pembrey, Carmarthen, Maindy and Newport. Anyone in Swansea wanting to practice their cycling in a safe area, shouldn't have to travel as far as they have to currently.
