Going bald for Shane

My dad, Shane, was a good soul who loved minions, giving to charity, and was well known for his signature moustache. Something we both shared! On Jan 7, 2020 he passed away after his months long battle with cancer. And now I want to follow in his footsteps of giving back as even to this day we are still getting calls for him from the multitude of charities he donated to. In honour of his memory, I have decided to raise money for the London Health Sciences Foundation’s London Regional Cancer Program who provided excellent care to my dad.

My main goal is to reach raising $2000 by April 29th, 2021 – my dad’s birthday. As I raise money and hit benchmarks, I will do various haircuts and trims to reflect the progress.

At $250 raised, I will get a mullet haircut. Dad had a glorious mullet in the 80’s with a wild party in the back. After the turn of the millennium the mullet made its exit, and it took me a good 6 months to notice it was gone.

At $500 raised, I will shave my beard and trim my moustache to mimic dad’s classic look.

At $1000 raised, I will shave my head leaving my moustache. This is something I have never done so it will be a shock for me.

At $2000 raised, I will shave off the signature moustache. *gasp* I know, it is shocking!

Shane was the oldest in his family, with 3 younger sisters. He met our mom when they teenagers and are soulmates, always together and raised 4 children and grandparents to 4 grandchildren (and 4 grand-puppies!). Shane loved sports in particular running and rugby (in keeping with his Irish heritage). He was loved and respected by so many and missed dearly. Thank you for any contribution you can make, I know he would be proud of seeing so much money going to such a worthy cause.
