Shoppers' Day 2019

Want to join in and make a HUGE difference to someone this holiday season? The Greensboro Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities, will hold it's 34th annual Shoppers' Day on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019. We raise funds to give each shopper $10 each to help with lunch or shopping.
This year, we have a record breaking 971 shoppers with disabilities signed up so far. Registration ends 10/31/19. At this point, we don't have the funds to provide $10 to each participant. YOU can help. Sponsor a shopper for only $10! All of your donation goes directly to the shoppers!
We provide a half day experience for the shoppers to be surrounded by people just like them in a safe and very happy environment. This day is for them! From the entertainment all morning performed by people with disabilities to having visits with Santa, free gift wrap and refreshments with new and old friends. Many of these folks don't get have the opportunity to get out and enjoy a day of independence, that we so often take for granted.

The Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities works to create a barrier free community! We are a coalition of businesses, human service agencies and individuals with all levels of abilities. We are a non-profit organization that advocates for disability rights, educates businesses on hiring people with disabilities, provides annual scholarships for students with disabilities and hosts an annual event with a crowd of 750 plus individuals with moderate to severe disabilities once a year for a social element that many do not experience otherwise.
