Kid Entrepreneur Builds Allergy App

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am the 13 year old CEO and Founder of Foodvie. Foodvie is an app that helps people (and parents of children) with food allergies find more grocery store products they can eat. I came up with Foodvie because my sister and I both have food allergies, and it was often hard for my family to find a lot of foods we could eat. My sister always wanted to eat granola bars, but my parents weren’t able to find any that didn’t say “may contain nuts”. Well, at least not for three years. This definitely took way too long. That’s where Foodvie comes in! All you have to do is create a profile by selecting what you’re allergic to, and then search for whatever food you are looking for.... and now you’ve found your allergy friendly food in around 30 seconds rather than three years!
 I developed my idea while I was in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) where I learned how to write a business plan, go through financials, and pitch my idea. I created a prototype of Foodvie that already has thousands of products and brought it to the National Competition, where I won 3rd place. Many people who have food allergies or know people who do are very excited about an easy way to shop, but Foodvie needs funding in order to develop and launch the commercial app. My goal is to reach $6,000 in thirty days so that Foodvie can begin to help people as soon as possible! The money will go towards programming and fees for launching in the App Store. I will really appreciate all of the donations and am beyond excited to see how Foodvie will help people with food allergies. Thank you!
