Send Gracie to National Junior Olympics!

This fundraiser is set up to help get Gracie to the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships held in Humble, TX July 21-27, 2014. Your donation will help pay for airfare, car rental, lodging, gas & food. We will be doing this trip as frugally as we can. Gracie qualified for the high jump, 1500m & 3000m run.

We always knew Gracie was fast, as we watched her zip around the soccer field for years. We also knew she had some endurance because she could go and go and not ever seem to get tired. But it wasn't until we entered her in her first race on Thanksgiving Day almost 2 years ago, where she was the first female to cross the finish line, that we realized she may have a bit of talent in running. She's been running in races since & has done well.

She ran for our middle school for two years and at the championship meet at the end of each season, she came away with a 1st place in each of her events. She holds the school record for the 1600m run with a time of 5:28.

Gracie made it to the Hersheys Track & Field state meet last year & placed 1st in the 800m & 3rd in the 1600m.

She has been working hard with Greg Halberg, who just started up a track club in our area (North Olympic Track Club), since school let out and faithfully does all of the workouts he gives her on the days club doesn't meet. She has the desire and work ethic to improve.

Gracie cleared 4'7" at the PNW association meet and tied (with several other girls) for 2nd.

We are not the type to ask people for money but when we realized it was either we give this a try or she doesn't go, we wanted to give it a shot- for Gracie.
