Thank you for visiting our gomfundme page. Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves and our upcoming adventure...
In June 2014, Ben & Cait will be traveling to Kenya to volunteer with the Arrive in Kenya organization. Please check out Arrive's website for more info. For three weeks, we will be living and volunteering at the Keumbu Rehema Children's Home in Nyaturubo, a village in rural western Kenya. The focus of our volunteer work will be education and community projects to enhace the lives of those who live at the Children's Home.
Arrive was founded by Brian Ash, a friend of Caitlin's from CU-Boulder. After hearing him speak about his work in Kenya and seeing several mutual friends volunteering in Kenya with Brian, Caitlin got the crazy idea to go for it! Of course, Cait couldn't possibly travel half way around the world without her sidekick, brother, and amigo, Ben. Lucky for her, Ben was quick to jump on board. So here we go...
Our initial goal is to cover our volunteer costs ($198 weekly, per person), which will account for our food and living expenses while we are there. Our hope is too exceed that goal. In doing so, we will be able to directly provide necessary food, clothing, building & educational materials for those living and working at the Keumbu Rehema Children's Home.
Every penny counts- and we thank you in advance for your generous donations. We're beyond excited to embark on this journey and hope you'll be a part of it, too! We'd love to share our journey with you (blog link and photos to come), in hopes that the images and stories of people we meet will be our thanks to you for making a piece of our adventure possible.
