Help for Gabriel's Continued Care

On June 26th, 2013 a malformation was discovered through an echo cardiogram for Gabriel. The diagnosis is Anomalous Left Heart Coronary. The defect was caught by chance when the family Genetics specialist ordered an Echo Cardiogram, to rule out another condition entirely.

Gabriel underwent open heart surgery August 8, 2013 and while recovering from the surgery has encountered new medical complications. He has been diagnosed with Postpericardiotomy Syndrome and has had at least 3 episodes of fluid around his heart and pneumonia, with at least one hospital stay since surgery for severe pneumonia. He has not been able to go back to school yet and has had to make frequent trips to the hospital emergency room sometimes late at night. He is still under a strict medication regiment.

The family van is in serious need of some repairs that if are not completed soon, will result in no available transportation to and from both doctors and the hospital. We are asking for donations to help in the repairs of the van to assure that it can provide the best and safest transportation, and that it meets the legal safety requirements of Oregon law to be driven after this month.

This is of utmost importance because it will be used for transportation to and from any doctor appointment and in the event of any other late night sudden travels to the Hospital Emergency Department. It would assure his mother of one less anxiety of wondering if she may be stranded and never make it to her destination.

Just FYI.. The first 1,714.00 that was raised, was raised during the initial campaign, and was used towards the initial needs after Gabriel surgery. All funds raised past that, are going to be applied to the mechanical work on the family vehicle, to make it safe and reliable transportation.
