Our brother, Jose Aramil, was tragically shot in the spine and he is now paralyzed from the chest down. He was an innocent bystander at a convenience store when he was hit by a single stray bullet.
While we thank God that Jose didn’t lose his life, he faces a lifelong battle towards physical recovery. Jose has no health insurance. Our family must now step in and take on the financial burden of hospital bills and rehabilitation that Medicaid won’t adequately cover. Without God’s intervention, Jose must have a suitable form of rehabilitation as soon as possible to have a chance of decreased round the clock physical care. The rehabilitation is extremely critical in having any hope of regaining the practical use of his arms and hands. Regaining the use below the chest would be a miracle.
While we are coming to grips with the unfairly freakish way that this all happened, we are attempting to give Jose some hope, to return him to some normalcy. Our family cannot do this alone.
