For those of you on facebook, you can see his occasional posts there as well. One bit of news is that Gerry's book is now available on Amazon for $25, or just $5 on Kindle (not sure how that happened). On a cell phone, Amazon just shows the Kindle version, click on that and THEN you see the $25 book version. On a laptop or computer, you DO see the book version upfront for $25. Gerry gets all the profits from the book sales. <div>Here are the latest posts from Gerry: "Aloha. A lot has been going on. I have been looking for the next step. I've settled on longevity. Humans were given 1000 years of life in the beginning. Now days we are lucky to survive 100 years. We were meant to live much longer. At one time an average life was 45 years. We are back up to around 80 now, but advancing slowly. My quest now is to measure my life in 1000s of years with 15,000 Earth years as a goal. In that time, I would see 3 or 4 Anunaki years. One Anunaki year is equivalent to 3600 Earth years. I expect to fail. I'm sure to fail. But that has nothing to do with my quest. I'm frail and sure to lapse, but perhaps others will succeed if I try and fail, yes? Chakas are an important part of it. Our top chakra is the God Chaka. God is real. God gives unnatural abilities as we age. I find i can reverse cancers, and brain disorders in others. Maybe in myself as well. Our body can live thousands of years but we mentally kill ourselves. I think, if we could stay out of the way, we could live a much longer lifetime." "I still work and run to catch the bus home after work every day. You would laugh at my slow pace now. A FEW days ago, as I was running to catch the bus, I had a head incident. I guess I stopped running in the middle of the street and hit a car. I couldn't lift my head off the hood of the car for several moments. But finally I recovered enough to lift my head and made it to a bench where I finally recovered enough to get on the Hawaii Kai bus. Sometimes my head clears and it seems fine. But then, it goes off again. Weird head, I guess." &gt; When I was 3 years old, my alcoholic dad beat me up real bad and broke a major artery feeding the head. My head developed a bypass and I didn't die, but when they took an extra of my head, they see a very weird major arterial route in my brain. &gt; But, other than that, I'm fine.

<div>Gerry Lindgren gave his all, training harder than any American runner ever had, winning many titles and races in high school, college and beyond. He represented the USA in the 1964 Olympics at age 18 in the 10,000m.

<div>Do you remember when he beat the Russians at age 18 at the L.A. Coliseum by sprinting at the 4-mile mark in the 10,000m in front of 40,000 track fans? He made the 1964 Olympic team in the 10,000m, also at age 18, just out of high school! Gerry would go on 88 mile runs, do “6 to 8 times 880y in 1:56-58” in workouts. His 8:40 2-mile in high school against Ron Clarke lasted 40 years. During college at Washington State Gerry won 11 track and cross country NCAA titles in 3 years. He set American Records and a World Record (in the 6-mile with Billy Mills).

<div>Gerry feels that the purpose of his running was to allow him to serve as a role model for others. He helped create the running boom of the 1970’s. He was motivated to run to bring out the best in the competitors around him. He was famous for going out fast (61 first 440 in college 2-miles) and for sprinting in the middle of long races.

<div>Gerry’s HS coach Tracy Walters writes “Into this environment (of the early ‘60’s) came a 5’6”, 118 pound squeaky voiced high school runner who had a great deal of pride and faith in his country and possessed a burning desire to elevae distance running in whatever way he could… Having just graduated from high school, he was able to beat most of the best runners in the world. He stood alone and fought for justice in the conflict between the NCAA and AAU and showed great courage in his desire for fairness”.
