11 year USAF veteran attained rank of E6 as a team leader in Space Command satellite surveillance unit.
Hit head on by a driver going wrong way on a one way service road. The Driver that hit him had no insurance
The Air Med helicopter ride alone was $41000. This was required to get him to a trauma center quickly as the EMS team had not idea of the extent of his injuries.
Multiple injuries requiring about 8 hours of surgery. Subsequent surgery to repair damaged artery.
Injuries include: Both legs broken and can’t walk on them for at least 3 months, both knees broken, fractured pelvis, fractured vertebra, Broken upper right arm, nerve damage in right hand making hand very ineffective.
At this time he cannot bend his knees and will not be able to for several weeks.
He is a professional sports official and as such has no income unless he works. At this time he facing another 4- 6 months before he can even hope to work again. He will require about 2-3 months of therapy before he can leave the hospital.
Funds are needed for Medical expenses, loss of income and ordinary living expenses and commuting for treatment after discharge from hospital.
He lives with his parents and helps them. Father is 82 and his mother is 76. Main source of their income is SSN benefits plus a little supplemental income from a home base business.
