Geoff's Bike Accident

In November 2017 Geoff and Mary Lou were riding their road bikes with the McHenry County Bicycle Club when they were struck head-on by a minivan. Geoff sustained multiple fractures in his back, spinal cord injury, a fractured leg, ribs and finger and a concussion. Mary Lou was severely bruised but her injuries were not life threatening. Geoff is now in spinal rehabilitation in Chicago.

They need your help to make wheelchair adaptations to their home. They will need to buy a wheelchair lift for their garage, a shower chair and a complete bathroom remodel to accomodate a wheelchair. Costs for these projects are approximately $17,000. They will also need a wheel chair van, the cost of which is not included in this campaign.
Prior to this accident Geoff routinely rode 3,500 miles yearly on his bike including an annual "century" ride.
Now that his leg has healed he is making his first attempts at learning to support his own weight, but his spinal cord injury is still a major factor in his recovery.
