Start Gardening Business to help me support my 4yr old

Hi everyone!

I am reaching out looking for support in achieving financial and work security, to help bring up and support my 4 year old Daughter by setting up my own small ‘one man’ Gardening Business.

Unfortunately, a life changing event happened which severely and seriously impacted my health and left me unable to work or function ‘normally’ for around 19 months and very abruptly without my previous full-time care of my precious little girl who was 2.5yrs old at the time. I now thankfully find myself needing to secure our future together once again, which although amazing is also incredibly scary and daunting, and the costs of living for us have obviously significantly increased very quickly.

We all know how tough, rapidly changing, and unsecure times are currently. So, I am looking to put a long term plan in to place for mine and my little girl’s exciting future together. I have decided to start my own Gardening business (mainly lawn and hedge cutting) to help financially support us both, and to give me work flexibility around our life together for years to come. This isn’t something new to me as I have many years’ experience of doing this already, as I have helped out a friend with his business in the past. I have although decided now is the right time to start looking to put all the pieces in place for next year 2025 ideally, so I can start off as early in the season as possible and go it alone, so to speak!

The current financial target I have set is what I have roughly worked out to be a realistic amount to acquire some of the main assets I would need for the business to get off to a start and work. I am aware that this amount is extremely low in business start up terms, but due to me having previous business management, marketing and research experience this will allow me to take on a bulk of the certain business set up tasks myself, without having to outsource and pay for these costs on top of everything else.

The majority outlay in the target figure, if achieved would help me to buy the following:

1. Work Van (2nd hand)

2. Commercial grade Lawn Mower

3. Printing costs for marketing, van signage & uniform.

4. Miscellaneous tools & Insurances

For any local single donations (within 15 miles of Hereford, Herefordshire) exceeding the amount of £100, I would be more than happy within reason to discuss some free of charge lawn mowing or hedge trimming work for one season.
