My Mother's Hip Replacement

Those of you who know my mother, Gail, know and feel her strength, courage and her selflessness when you meet her. Being widowed in her 30th year, mom raised all 7 of us kids, through thick and thin, and instilled in us our morals, encouraged our diversity and independence, as well as taught us what humans are capable of overcoming.

In what may be seen as insubordinate behavior but was in fact, in the thickness of indignity, holding to her values and defending those around her without a voice, mom was "let go" from her job, just days after Thanksgiving. Just days before her Hip Replacement consult. Just weeks before Christmas.

She'd never ask for help, and she may have reservations from this fund being promoted, but Tis the Season to change minds and hearts and to accept gifts... Mom's been struggling with the pain of her hips for several years now. She'd tried steroid shots, which provided more pain than comfort, and was finally days away from scheduling the surgery.
