Goodbye Boston, Hello NYC/MET OPERA

Hi friends! I am moving to NYC in a few weeks for the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. The Lindemann Young Artist Development Program was created in 1980 by the Met's Music Director James Levine to identify and develop extraordinarily talented young artists in the realm of opera. The program has trained a new generation of celebrated American and international opera singers, as well as coaches and pianists, who perform at the highest standards in productions at the Met and opera houses around the world.

It is truly an honor  and a dream come true to call this titan of an opera company my new home. As many of you know, my journey up to this point has not been easy, but I have proven to myself that with hard work, resilience and dedication, doors will open. I also take much pride in being the first Nicaraguan-American to be employed as singer for the Metropolitan Opera. This is much bigger than myself and a step forward for Latinos in the arts.

This fundraiser is to help offset the moving costs for NYC hopefully within the next few weeks. Ideally I would like to move August 15th, but will move September 1st, if needbe. As many of you know, moving is not cheap, and I must put down the equivalent of 3 months rent right away to secure an apartment, as well as moving costs such as the truck rentals etc. Any help to offset that would be amazing and it would mean the world to me that you support my budding career.
