GACS - Help Us Defeat Our Goliath!
Gulfhaven Adventist Christian School is located at 10716 Sabo Road, Houston, TX, 77089. We offer an alternative to public school system by providing a Christian based school in our community. At present our school comprises 36 students from grades Pre K through grade 9. We are blessed with 4 full-time staff, 1 part-time and 1 volunteer staff member. Our doors are open to all students from our community, irrespective of race, class or religious affiliation. We pride ourselves in providing a safe, holistic and sound education to all our community children.
The benefit of having a Christian school is a priceless alternative. Teaching our children in an atmosphere of Christian love, is an investment in the long-term future health of our community. We believe that by providing children in our community with a Christian school and the values it upholds, means we are investing in a brighter future for our community.
GACS is a privately owned and operated school, which has largely depended on the generosity and self-sacrificial donations of our Gulfhaven Church and a few other donors to provide Christian education to families in our community for more than 30 years now. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, exorbitant costs in building improvements and changing trends in the charitable giving patterns of people, we are experiencing extreme difficulty in having to meet our financial obligations, both for our current school year as well as for the new school year, beginning August 2015.
Our desire and commitment is to keep our school open and provide an alternative to public schooling in our community. We are currently exploring, consolidating, and rearranging by going back to elementary school status up to grade 8, which is our largest constituency.
This would reduce our expenses for the 2015-2016 budget and help to keep our school open. The bottom line is that if we do not receive substantial financial assistance and very soon, we would have to shut down our school at the end of our current school year. I have outlined our current financial needs below.
We humbly appeal to our surrounding communities, friends, and family to help alleviate our financial predicament by offering assistance in any or all of the following areas outlined below:
Outstanding debt for current operations: $ 40,000.00
Repairs & Capital Improvements to dated building: $110,000.00
Projected Budget for 2015-2016 School Year: $ 50,000.00
However, if we can meet our goal of $100,000.00, which includes current operations debt and minor repairs, it will keep our school from closing its doors.
