Rich "Jumbo" Sielert Memorial Fund

Rich "Jumbo" Sielert was a founding member of the virtually unknown 1980's comedy metal band Pillage Sunday, as well as the original drummer for Metallica's drunken side project Spastik Children. A graduate of El Cerrito High School and a veteran of the legendary SF Bay Area thrash metal scene, he hobnobbed with rock & roll royalty (yes, there are photos of him with everyone from El Duce to Lenny Kravitz) and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. More importantly, though, he was a truly kind human being and a friend to all. Kids loved him, cats & dogs loved him, we all loved him. Sadly, he passed away July 12th, 2014.

As you may or may not know, the last few years were pretty expensive and his family ran up a pretty huge bill. While we all helped in our own ways, we didn't get hit with an invoice after taking late night phone calls or helping him through an especially difficult episode. That said, I think it would be a nice gesture to celebrate his life by digging his family out of the hole a little bit. What do you think? Can you pitch in? I've got no "premiums" to offer, no special awards, just the satisfaction of knowing that you helped out the people who gave him to us in the first place and supported him to the end. And karma points. Plenty of karma points.

Full disclosure: They do not know I'm doing this.
