Fuel The Frontlines:Meals for Queens Health Heroes

Hello,
My name is Shiella and I am a Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse working in New York City and forever a Queens girl. Over the past few weeks, every single person living in NYC has been affected by COVID-19 in unimaginable ways as we’ve witnessed our city turn into the epicenter of this pandemic. Queens, being home of the most ethnically diverse groups of people in the nation, has been the hardest hit borough in all of NYC.
Healthcare workers on the frontlines are tirelessly working under strenuous conditions day in and day out in order to save as many lives as possible. Due to the fear of spreading the virus to their own families, most healthcare workers face uncertainties and are unable to go to their own homes. In such trying times, it is crucial that we band together in the fight against COVID-19, with not one role being more important than another.
For weeks now, I have been trying to think of ways I can help, step up and support my fellow healthcare workers besides showing up and doing what is asked of me. Today, I feel more inspired than ever. In an effort to show my appreciation and utmost gratitude to those on the frontlines, I will be raising money in order to help provide meals for healthcare workers in various hospitals throughout the borough of Queens while also supporting local restaurants and small businesses in the community. Together we will FUEL THE FRONTLINES of Queens by bringing comfort and ease through well-prepared meals.
100% of your donations will go towards meals for healthcare workers on the frontlines at the following hospitals:
- Elmhurst Hospital Center
- Queens Hospital Center
- Jamaica Hospital Medical Center
- Flushing Medical Center
- LIJ Forest Hills
- New York Presbyterian/Queens
- Mount Sinai Queens
I will be reaching out to one or two people from each facility to act as my liaison to coordinate and schedule meal deliveries, etc.
