Save our History,1883 Train Station

Tax deductible
When first learning about the Destruction of the Depot,we knew we had to take action. Our History was being Threatened so a committe was formed to save it. We have accomplished so much in a short period of time.. A corporation was formed, obtained our 501c3 status and now in the process of applying for grants and organizing fund raisers.
We're working closely with CSX. Our present goal is to raise funds to move the Depot. We are required to move the depot so we can allow public access to the facility. CSX is donating approximately 2 acres where the YMCA   Now sits. This will be the new site of Gladstone Depot. The depot will remain in line with the railroad tracks as is historically correct. The last time the depot was moved was back in the 1920's with 8 mules. That way seems a lot easier, but I'm not sure the mules would agree with me. After our goal of obtaining funds to move the depot has been reached, we will begin the restoration . The Depot is in very stable and good condition . We will be doing some of the work ourselves such as grading, cleaning, painting , etc...  As Gladstonians ,we never let the lack of money stop us from achieving our goals. Today we are asking for donations that will go towards moving the Depot. Donations are tax deductible .
