Buddy For Gabby

Gabby is a sweet, beautiful, and artistic 10 year old. To look at her you wouldn't know she had a disability, once you meet her you know there is something special about her. For years Gabby's Pediatrician and ENT doctor thought her speech problems and other issues were due to ear infections. When she was 8 years old she had tubes put in her ears. The tubes allowed her to hear things she had never been able to hear before, but the problems continued. Shortly after, Gabby was tested for Autism. On February 19, 2014, Gabby was diagnosed with autism. Gabby receives speech and social skills/behavioral therapy from her school on top of speech and occupational therapy outside of school. However, the therapies can only help with some of the issues. Gabby will still have sensory problems, disregard for danger as she does not understand, and anxiousness among other traits of autism. A smell, a noise, a touch, or a light/brightness can send her into meltdown mode. Koni, the service dog, will help Gabby during these times. Koni will be there to prevent meltdowns when she is in sensory overload, will be able to prevent Gabby from wandering away, and protect her from danger. Gabby will be able to go to public places and enjoy herself instead of dealing with anxiety and sensory overload. Please help my daughter get Koni so she can enjoy the things we take for granted.
