Frank Amato Track and Field Scholarship
Friends of Loyola. Frank Amato is retiring after 47 years coaching at Loyola. We have established a Track and Field Award in his name to be an endowed scholarship for a senior member of the team for athletics and academics. Award write-up is as follows:
The Frank J. Amato Award is presented to Loyola Academy by classmates, teammates, and the United States Marine Corps, the University of Notre Dame, and is dedicated to Frank J. Amato a Loyola Academy coach for 47 years. Coach Amato is a World War II Asian-Pacific veteran, Notre Dame athlete, Loyola Academy President's award winner, Illinois Coaches Hall of Fame member, and winner of the High School National Track Coach of the year. The recipient of this year's award and scholarship is presented annually to the Senior Class member of the Track and Field team selected as most outstanding in the classroom and on the athletic field.
