Please see my recent update for the current status of what I need help with.

This is the story of a miracle and how you can help me! The picture is the day the tubes were removed the day before my discharge after spending almost the entire month in the hospital.  I weighed 89 lbs!

Hi, I'm Fran & a Stage 3 ovarian cancer survivor.

For three years I had been searching for an answer to my mysterious 25 lb. weight loss and regular, but seemingly insignificant, abdominal area pain.  After many doctors and bouts of pneumonia, I had spent thousands of dollars with no answers.

Happy New Year 2014!

I was laid off on Dec. 31st, 2013 and drove myself to the ER due to yet another bout of pneumonia. The ER Dr. listened to all I told him about my health history and told me he was going to find out what was really going on with me.  A stomach scan, MRI, physical exam & CA-125 blood test later, it was discovered I had a tumor the size of a baby’s head in my 96 lb. body.

2014 certainly started & turned out differently than I could have ever imagined.  Major surgery & a long recovery, moving out of my apartment & moving in with my daughter’s family, 6 months of chemotherapy, 2 more hospitalizations and now a weakened immune system which often makes me tired & unable to currently pursue employment.  I will find out later this month if I am still cancer-free.  I’m hopeful!

It is not easy for me to ask for help of this nature, but I am up against a wall. While I am now receiving Social Security Disability, there was a five month delay in receiving it.  All contributions are used for medical costs which include Cobra Insurance, out-of-pocket & deductible, doctor visits, monthly medical supplies.

This journey has deepened my already firm faith in God. I thank Him every day for the miracle I've received to have this time with my family and friends, and a Pastor who have given me encouragement and support throughout this difficult time.

July 30th, 2014.  Last day of chemotherapy!

August 5th, 2014.  Celebrating my 59th birthday with family and friends just five days after completing six months of chemotherapy.

Six months into remission and I have hair again!  Gofundme doesn't download the full picture but I am holding my new granddaughter who was born Jan. 30th, 2015.
