Back on Our Feet FINALLY

Update 7/20/16:

While we have been very blessed to get by every month with the help of a guardian angel, we can't do that anymore.  Won't. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes a little money to make money. I, Shannon, have gone back up to Virginia as the job market hasn't been kind to me in FL. I'm staying at the mercy of a friend, but there are some loose ends. I did something drastic coming here to become INdependent and find myself asking for help for me, but mostly for my dad again.

The current purpose of this page is to finish the move and get a car to make work possible. I have one. It just needs repairs, and it's needed them for about three years now.

My my dad is stranded in FL and I'm out of cash. I can and will work. I just need to fix transportation and get clothes. My dad is lacking in a couple areas too.

Please help one more time with a real hand up rather than a handout. Credit is accepted on this site. I'll get 85% of what you send in 3 days, and it will be used responsibly to make us independent again. That's a promise!

---------------------------

January 21, 2013 Frank got the news no one wants to ever get... The "Big C" was in play. The odds of survival were so low the oncologist refused to provide them at first. Countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and cranial radiation later... He's in a rare and, so far, miraculous clinical trial at The Moffitt Center in Tampa. One would think that being in one piece a year and a half later would be a reason for pure celebration. While we are thrilled with his current stability healthwise, there are other survival issues now threatening us. If you don't know me, I'm Shannon, Frank's daughter. I have been out of paying work for most of the last year. Traveling across the state every week made regular employment impossible and part-time work unpredictable. Now, the trips to Tampa have been reduced to twice per month, and I can work like a true workaholic. There's a catch. You knew there had to be for this page to exist, right?

My car isn't driveable, and we are three months behind on all bills. Everything is getting ready to be shut off, and the best we can hope for is to keep things running for one week at a time, which isn't working as I type this now.

All friends, family, and charities have been very good to us during this period, and, as a result, there's nothing left - no one can do anything else.

We are seeking just enough to break even so that I can drive and go back to work. My Dad has a surgery upcoming to restore partial use of one vocal chord, and he can't work until then. I'm ready and willing to support us - I just need to keep us sheltered and fed while I find a way to gain transportation. After that, I won't have to beg, and, believe me, that's the most distasteful thing I've ever had to do in my entire life. I don't want freebies or handouts. I want to be the provider. I don't know how to get there, so I'm here begging despite the shred of pride I have left in order to get where we all need me to be. I'll pay all the bills / just give me a chance and the bills to pay (meaning don't let us lose everything right when things are turning around). Please?

Thanks for taking the time to read. Sorry it's so long... Just desperate.
