As you might know, last August Franco was diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease. From that moment on we have conducted research and discovered that there is no cure. ALS is an incurable neurodegenerative disease where the nerve cells that control the body’s muscles die.
Currently, his life expectancy is 1-2 years. At this stage he is not able to use both his hands, arms and legs. Fortunately he is still able to breath, swallow and speak. Even though there is no cure, we have found a treatment that could slow down the progression of the disease by applying a stem cells treatment. Come qualcuno di voi già sa, lo scorso agosto a Franco è stata diagnosticata la SLA. Da quel momento abbiamo condotto diverse ricerche e abbiamo scoperto che non esiste una cura. La SLA è una malattia neurodegenerativa incurabile in cui le cellule nervose che controllano i muscoli del corpo muoiono.
Attualmente, la sua aspettativa di vita è di circa 1-2 anni. In questa fase non è in grado di utilizzare entrambe le mani, le braccia e le gambe.
