Jason Fowler is a proud and loving father of his young children, Julian, Anthony, Victor and Lydia.  He is married to his loving wife Edie.  In October of 2013, Jason, was diagnosed with a large aggressive tumor and was scheduled for immediate surgery.  His first craniotomy resected a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a terminal cancer. He continued to suffer extreme headaches, dizziness, loss of vision, and other side effects that led to the loss of his abilities to drive, and earn a living for his family.

After the surgery, side effects never quite subsided, and the resulting MRI showed new tumor growth. Another Craniotomy discovered a massive infection from the first surgery, a large brain abscess, and allowed the removal of the new tumor growth.  Jason has gone through weeks of radiation treatments and six grueling monthly cycles of chemotherapy.  Now because of the infection, Jason in on IV antibiotics for the next 6 weeks, before he switches to oral, and will now continue the remaining 6 cycles of chemo.  Because of the infection, the doctors have discarded his bone flap and he will soon undergo another surgery, cranioplasty to rebuild his skull.

Jason’s battle with the fast, aggressive cancer is a life threatening one for his entire family.
The Fowlers have been part of the Mad River Valley since 1987. Jason studied at GMVS and Harwood before moving on to Cornell University’s school of Hotel Administration. He has worked for Fourseasons hotels, and Restaurant Aquavit in NYC before
moving back to the Valley in 2002 to start Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant.  More recentl Jason has worked for Tarpon Management at Club Sugarbush, Snowside, and North Lynx Condos - Wedding, Tents & Events and Sperry Tent’s Vermont, as well as Timbers Restaurant.

The loss of his job has taken a heavy financial toll on the family, as Jason looks to alternative Cancer treatments. He is hoping to raise enough to participate in one of the more successful "out of network" brain cancer treatments that will require out of pocket payments that medicaid and disability don't cover.

We are trying to raise a year’s salary and possibiliy enough for a non-standard treatment- Please help the Fowler Family by donating to this fund.  Together we can help to ease some of their pain, stress and suffering, while we hope and pray that Jason will make a full recovery.
