For the Love of Ms Rhea

My 2 girls were in a discussion the other night at bedtime, and I overheard my 9 year old say say to my 4 year old, who is about to move up in classrooms at school, "I hope you get Ms. Rhea, cause she is AWESOME, and then I'll get to see her every day!" and my 4 year old said right back "Yea, she is, she's AWESOME." Yes, she is. She is awesome.

It has saddened us beyond words to learn that our dear Ms. Rhea Usery, who has awesomely cared for our children at Mt Pisgah since 2002, has very recently been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It is malignant and inoperable. She had a port implanted in her chest last week, and will receive an aggressive schedule of chemotherapy, beginning on July 1. This will hopefully shrink the tumor and make her pain more manageable.

We all know she is a trooper, with that big smile of hers, a Tennessee shirt every chance she gets, and a faith as strong as ever. But enduring this treatment will certainly be difficult. So please, we humbly ask that you join with us as we lift her up. We'd love everyone to please, please pray for her. And if we could relieve even a small portion of the financial burden from her shoulders, as she endures this journey and fights this battle, what an awesome gift that would be to her.
