Good People Deserve Good Things

If any of you know a gal named Kaitlyn Forks, you know she’s a woman of many talents, one of them being, she is a gifted artist. I am a big fan of RAKs and a strong believer in showing love to one another on a random, day-to-day basis and not just when someone’s life is in shambles or in a last minute dire situation. (Don’t get me wrong, I definitely feel we should all do our part to help out in the dire situations as well!) But I really love the notion of being proactive and sometimes just taking care of those around us because they are good and kind and deserving, and hell, because it’s Tuesday! That having been said, I wanted to take a few minutes to implore you guys to donate a few bucks to a seemingly non-essential but meaningful cause. Kaitlyn and I were discussing art the other day and she was telling me how much she would love to be able to use the art program procreate but because it requires an iPad and the use of an Apple Pencil, so its pretty much a back burner dream right now because of finances. Now I am well aware that there are people suffering all over the world to the point that raising financial support for an item like an iPad might seem like too much of a frivolous, first world luxury to donate to in the big scheme of things BUT hear me out... About a year ago these same items were gifted to me and although they are just materials “things”, they quickly became the very tools and then catalyst I needed that enabled me to quit the 2 jobs I was obligated to and unfulfilled by, to start my current business doing freelance art full time now and it has CHANGED MY LIFE. Kaitlyn’s art is thoughtful and powerful and I think she’s going to do a lot of really cool things in life. (A lot more* cool things) And I think it’s really important to help empower people with talents by giving them the best tools possible to thrive in their fields of work or passion. I’d like to pay it forward and gift this sweet girl with her first Apple Pencil but I need some help from a few more of her loved ones to get her the iPad this pencil is compatible with. If you’ve met Kaitlyn, you’ve probably been charmed by her infectious good vibes and probably totally understand why she’s a good candidate for a “something nice just because” gift and will hopefully feel compelled to donate $5-10 towards this little goal. If you don’t know Kaitlyn, go check out her art Instagram and see why her art style and message is just COOL. It’s simple and relatable and pure and interesting. Hopefully you’ll be just as curious as to what she’ll create next and donate as well.
