Help For The Village Doulas to Continue Growing!

For The Village provides free doula services to all families in San Diego County area with an emphasis on marginalized groups, such as people of color, LGBTQIA and low income families. As reproductive justice advocates, we have also joined the movement to improve black maternal health outcomes by not only providing doula support but also providing education to support, educate and empower the community!

We are now in a collaboration with Project Concern International and Birth Roots Maternity Center, owned by Darynee Blount, LM. In this collaboration, we are able to provide a free three day doula training for San Diego community members desiring to assist their community by becoming a certified For The Village doula. The doulas that come through this training are also compensated for their work in the the community!

To date, we have trained 44 San Diego community members. Our doulas are a beautiful mix of cultures, races and languages that provide a full representation of the San Diego community. For The Village has assisted over 65 San Diego families with free doula services and with your help, we can reach more families and make a greater impact!
