Parker's Hospital Expenses

Donation protected
Having twins is a special thing. Having them be mono-mono twins is even more special. Our identical boys, Parker and Harrison, shared the same amniotic sack together. This made them special, but also made their growth and development during the pregnancy more dangerous and higher risk. Most twins have their own amniotic sack, but not them.

My favorite pictures of Parker when he was healthy.

One of my most cherished moments of my boys,     Harrison is hugging Parker. Everything was normal and    great.

Parker and Harrison were all set to be born on November 25th, but during the final doctor appointment, Parker’s heart was beating faster for some reason. The doctors decided to perform an emergency C-section that day and not wait until the next day, to make sure that the boys would be alright. When Parker and Harrison were born, they were especially worried about Parker. He was born clenching, which alluded to a hypothesis that he may have experienced a brain injury. During the first night, the doctors in the ISCU performed brain scans and ultimately an MRI. It was discovered that Parker had experienced a devastating brain injury due to umbilical cord compression that caused him to lose oxygen to his brain for at least 10 minutes. The doctors did not think Parker would ever breathe on his own without being hooked up to a machine that breathed for him.

My sweet Parker <3

We were completely heartbroken, but it did not stop us from loving him. Parker was eventually moved next to Harrison in the same ISCU room and we were so happy to see the boys be together. We were told that if Parker had passed away in-utero because of his brain injury, he could have unintentionally damaged Harrison. We knew Parker did not want that, so we believe he fought to stay alive for his brother. We are so very thankful that Harrison is healthy and doing well. We were told by the doctors that we had to say goodbye to him and let him go. Parker was taken off of life support on November 30th, 2014 at 12:02 am. He spent his last moments in our arms where we got to hold him one last time and say our goodbyes.  We are so thankful for the 5 days that we (and our families and friends) got to spend with him. Parker will always be remembered, always be with us, and we will always love him.

After Parker's funeral, getting through the rest of the year, we started recieving his medical bills. We were able to pay for a few of them, but they continued to come in and now we are struggling to finish paying for them. We have just a few bills left and am asking for your help. This was a very hard decision for us to make because we aren't ones to ask for this kind of help. I am a stay at home mom and my husband had to take a month off of work with no pay during this time. Because of this, it has made things very difficult for us. We have appreciated all the love and support we have gotten throughout this tragic situation. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

All of the extra money raised will be donated to Molly Bears (http://www.mollybears.com). Molly Bears is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
