Linda's Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Dear friends and friends of friends,

This GoFundMe was created on November 17th, 2017 in support of Linda and Tessa after her brain injury. This campaign has helped Tessa thus far with basic expenses.

At this time I am changing the campaign to a Memorial one in an effort to continue to send love and financial support to Tessa and Lucy.

New information will be posted as soon as details are available.

With love,
Tessa, Lucy, Dante, Lisa

On Thursday, November 9th, 2017, Linda McDonald, a loving mother, grandmother and a highly skilled master framer, had an unexpected, sudden and devastating brain aneurysm for which Linda underwent brain surgery that same night.

During the event, Linda had the strength to call her daughter, Tessa for help. She was immediately rushed to Marin General and then transferred to San Francisco as it was determined the cause was the result of a bundle of abnormal blood vessels in her brain. She had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, brain bleed, and stroke. She had urgent surgery to remove a golf-ball sized mass of blood vessels and a partial craniotomy.

At the time of this tragic event, Linda was still recovering from a severe virus that had left her with arthritic joint pain, but even so, otherwise Linda was quite healthy and therefore able to undergo such invasive surgery. Linda is currently stable in the ICU. She will be there for an uncertain length of time and still has a long way to go and a lot of healing to do.

As many of you know, Linda is a master framer and is the sole owner of the frame shop, Fabulous Framers located at The Pacheco Plaza in Ignacio CA. Linda is a 3rd generation Californian, who’s grandparents settled in Blackpoint in 1910. She used to ride her horses through what is now the Pacheco Plaza Shopping Center. This is why having her life long dream of owning her own frame shop coming true, and to have it at Pacheco Plaza was the best possible spot and made her so happy. She has always been proud to be a part of the community and has given back to the community in so many ways with donating to school auctions and volunteering at her grand-daughter’s school.

Linda worked tirelessly for over 30 years while raising Tessa as a single mother. She is an active grandmother with Tessa’s daughter, and is an amazing support system for Tessa. Linda is the only employee at the shop and this event and her hospitalization means a sudden, solid halt to her income for the family and her business.

The medical recovery road ahead will be long, involved and expensive. Their family needs financial support now more than anything. Tessa is doing her best to manage keeping on top of her mothers condition, taking care of Lucy and maintaining her full-time job in SF. In addition Tessa is contacting her mom’s customers so they can pick up their orders, both complete and incomplete. The tasks before Tessa and long recovery for Linda is monumental, and any support they receive is so desperately needed and will be greatly appreciated.

Tessa is a dear, dear friend of mine, and I know how worried she is for her mom. I started this campaign to do what I can to help so she can be there for Linda, Lucy and manage all that is before their small family.

No donation is too small. This campaign is public, sharing on social media and spreading the word would be so appreciated.

Thank you with Love on behalf of Linda, Tessa, Lucy, their extended family and friends, and myself, Lisa Farrer
