For Arran

Tax deductible

42 days, that's all we had together from diagnosis before Arran closed his eyes and slipped away.

To receive the news that Arran had an aggressive Glioblastoma broke my heart in ways i didnt know it could break, the tears flooded from my eyes and my words seemed stuck, unable to come out. Stage 4, Inoperable, months....... These words raced round my mind at 100 miles per hour, how could this be? Not my son, not my Arran, How, Why........... But Arran looked at me and when asked by the Oncologist if he understood what she had said he replied "Yes, i have a tumour and there's nothing you can do for me" She asked how he felt, Arrans reply "It is what it is"

From that moment on Arran showed more courage and bravery than i had ever seen before. Right until his very last breath Arran was Brave, Courageous, Composed and never stopped smiling.

In those 42 days we had together we made every single second count, we had days out, days in, laughs, smiles, tears but most of all we had love, our love and the love of our family and friends.

To see the spark in Arrans eyes when everyone was there was so beautiful, even on his darker days when he began to lose the ability to speak.

Up until the very last minute Arran kept his sense of humour, his laugh was so contagious he would light up every room, if he laughed, you laughed!

I had never heard of Glioblastoma before but its a word which will forever touch my heart.

Glioblastoma is a brain Cancer which has very little understanding or Awareness. My hope is that in time either deeper understanding of Glioblastoma will be more available or a cure will be found so no other mum will feel the way i feel, no other girlfriend, grandparent, brother or friend will experience the heart breaking loss everyone has felt.

So to try and raise funds for vital research towards understanding this cruel illness Hollie and I are planning to walk from home to Folkstone...... The place Arran loved most!

I know now Arran would be laughing, saying your off your head but we have broken it down over 7 days, so here is how it will go.....

We will walk 5 miles a day, everyday. We will start this on: 23rd August & finish on 29th August at Folkstone Harbour.

Each day we will post the days achievements and the following days plans.

You are all more than welcome to join us on part or all of the walk but we hope to see you all in Folkstone on 29th August to celebrate making it and doing all we can to raise Awareness for Glioblastoma.

In advance from Hollie and myself Thank you so much ♥️
