Mike Powers Ice Cream Truck Repairs

1:00pm on Sunday, August 26th, @ Bates Woods Park in New London, our favorite ice cream man Mike Powers will be honored with a proclamation, declaring that day to be his appreciation day moving forward. A man so selfless, generous, and loving is beyond deserving of such gratitude and more, for all that he has given to this community for over 50 years. Mike is synonymous with the word giving, as we can all recall free treats and huge discounts in times where we, or our neighbors, came to his ice cream truck short, or with nothing at all. It’s the spirit of Mike that is so invested in putting joy in peoples hearts and smiles on their faces, that would make him overlook having a business to run and family to provide for, and give give give give give, every time. I remember one day speaking with Mike, when he mentioned that the money that he makes pretty much goes towards repairs for the trucks that he does business out of, and he was fine with that, because he wasn’t in it for the money, but all for spreading love. How can we repay somebody that has devoted their entire life to paying it forward? We will never be even, but it would be a pretty cool gesture to chip away at the debt, by coming together for this cause. Give what you can towards repairs for Mike’s ice cream truck.
